Some 60 wine lovers joined Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson at Union Station on September 17th to take a Via Rail train to Belleville on a beautiful – and early – Saturday morning; and then they were bussed from there to Huff Estate Winery in Bloomfield, Prince Edward County. The event was a ton of fun and Chef Michael Potters really outdid himself with a spectacular lunch using all locally-grown County ingredients and accompanied by the local wines. Lanny Huff and his staff were incredibly accommodating and really loved having us there; and it showed in the enthusiasm of the vineyard managers, cellar master and Frédéric Picard, the winemaker. A number of winemakers from the region poured their wines and spoke about them and what they were trying to accomplish in the region. They are extremely bullish on the future of this promising viticultural area.
