Access Education

Access Education – Guatemala Children’s Fund is committed to providing funds to schools which will enable every single child to attend.

Through our efforts, hundreds of children have been enrolled in school over the past four years. In partnership with these communities, and with these children, we are breaking the cycle of poverty and ignorance.

Our mission is to create schools in the area of Coatepeque, Quetzaltenago in the small villages that surround the larger city. While there are schools in operation in most towns, they are usually too small to accommodate more children.

ACTS FOR WATER

Acts for Water is one of Canada’s oldest water charities. For over 30 years now people like you have helped us deliver clean, disease-free water to communities in rural Uganda.

It has changed everything. We believe giving a child clean, accessible water is the best way to help them transform their future and we’re focused on being the best at just that. In order for clean water to truly transform a village, it needs to be connected to every part of the community’s life, most importantly the school.

When water and latrines are available at a school, kids can safely attend, learn, and stay healthy, going on to influence the hygiene health of the entire region!

RAISING THE VILLAGE

We form clusters of last-mile communities that have existing economic and social relationships, live in geographic proximity, and share key infrastructure.

The cluster model leverages these relationships into groups with an average size of 8 villages and a shared total population of 5,000. This creates wholesale coverage and impactful economic cooperation.

We focus on 3 key areas:

  • Removing immediate barriers to livelihoods.

  • Developing diverse income generating projects.

  • Building local capacity and engagement to continue progress.
